January - February - March - April We fish for Winter Steelhead on the Rogue, Coquille, Elk, Sixes or North, South and Main Umpqua Rivers. The weather and river levels play a huge role on where we decide to fish for Winter Steelhead here in Southern Oregon. Be ready for an adventure! We traditionally use yarn ball, beads and Steelhead roe if needed. We recommend using 7 to 8 weight fly rods with floating line. If you have a request, please let me know at the time of booking.
July - August Summer Steelhead on the Upper Rogue River start showing up. We traditionally use classic Steelhead flies, bugs, beads, yarn balls, and roe if needed. We recommend using a 7 or 8 weight fly rod with floating line. There will be King Salmon present, don't be surprised to hook one and hold on, it happens often!!!!
October - November Fall Steelhead fishing on the Upper Rogue River or Lower Rogue River, depending on the time of booking. We use classic Steelhead flies, bugs, beads, yarn balls, and roe if needed. We recommend using 6, 7, or 8 weight fly rod with floating line.
July - August We will be fishing for Spring Chinook Salmon on the Upper Rogue or the Lower Rogue river for early Fall Chinook depending on the time of your booking. This is a great opportunity to hook and land Chinook on your fly rod. There will also be Summer Steelhead present. We recommend using 8 weight fly rods with floating line. We traditionally use beads up to 14 millimeters, yarn balls and salmon roe if needed.
September - October Early Fall Chinook Fishing on the Lower Rogue River. This is an awesome get away and a great opportunity to hook and land Fall Chinook on your fly rod. Steelhead will also be available and our Silver salmon start to show up the beginning of October. We traditionally use beads up to 14 millimeters, yarn balls and salmon roe if needed. We recommend using 8 or 9 weight fly rod with floating line.
