In the late summer, we head to Gold Beach to fish for Chinook Salmon in the mouth of the Rogue River. These fish come right out of the ocean and are dime bright chromers, and produce the best quality meat. We typically fish in a Chinook 22 powerboat in this area.
Steelhead
Hot days in the late summer are the perfect time to get out on the river and cool off. During this season, we fish for Steelhead on the Upper Rogue River near Shady Cove. These Steelheads are also dime bright and produce great quality meat. Most of the fish caught here on the Upper Rogue are hatchery fish and can be kept. On this part of the Upper Rogue, we fish out of a drift boat.
