Where to Stay

Our guided trips span the rivers of Southern Oregon, and we typically recommend spending the night nearby, as we generally launch early in the morning. We have a number of place around Southern Oregon that we recommend to our clients, from campgrounds and RV parks to full service hotels, and you can always contact Carson for more details and recommendations.

Gold Beach:
For our summer Chinook season, we fish out of Gold Beach. Our favorite spot in this area is HoneyBear by the Sea, a full service RV resort and campground, complete with a bar & grill, lodge, game room, and ocean view. Whether you're looking to pitch a tent or hookup your RV, HoneyBear by the Sea has everything you need. Make sure to reserve ahead of time, as the sites fill up quickly.

Roseburg:
Our winter Steelhead season is based out of Roseburg, which has plenty of lodging options.

One of our favorites is the Rising River RV Park, just south of Roseburg, on the banks of the Umpqua River. With 90 full hookups including free WIFI cable TV, lodge, and a variety of other amenities, Rising River has everything you need for RV camping. They also have a River House available for rent, for those traveling without an RV.

Agness:
For the fall Rogue River Salmon season, we suggest our clients stay in Agness, just 27 miles upstream from our base.

"I've fished with Carson for over 10 years. His knowledge of the fish and the river systems they inhabit is top notch. He knows all the best places to get you into fish! He's also very personable there's never a dull moment on the boat. He is very good at explaining everything and no matter if you've fished before or not you will have learned something new and caught great fish along the way."

"Had a great time on the river with Chris. I’m not the most experienced fisher, but he always knew how to help me out. Chris knew exactly where to put us onto the good fish, excited to go back on another trip with him!"

No one knows our rivers in southern Oregon better than Carson and we have been going now for 7 years now and it is clearly one of the highlights of the year. Carson Guide Service has great gear, knowledge of the rivers and weather patterns and we are always on the fish. Chris is really a dedicated professional and is committed to the respect of the river, its conservation and doing what's best for the fishery and fishermen. And the best part is we ALWAYS Catch Fish and have a whale of a time doing it! If you are new to river fishing or a seasoned pro, I totally recommend Carson Guide Services for a great fishing experience.
