June 23rd.

     Well...... I have to admit that this Spring Salmon season wasn't all that bad! I did think it was going to be better the way it started, but all and all it was pretty decent! Today we hooked three and landed one, and it was a hatchery fish! The other two broke us off on rock ledges. I have two trips left here on the Upper Rogue River and then I fly up to Alaska on June 29th to guide on the Kenai River for Sockeye Salmon, Humpies, and Silvers! I will return back to good OLE Oregon on August 18th! When I return I will start fishing the Lower Rogue River for early Fall Chinook 20 miles up river from Gold Beach out of the town on Agness. I will still be keeping a fishing report available, but it will be from Alaska for the next six weeks. If you are still planning on fishing Southern Oregon, please don't hesitate to contact me! We caught a nice 22 lb hatchery Spring Chinook today! My clients were from Pennsylvania and all they wanted to do is catch a bunch of fish! So we fished for trout and salmon throughout the day. We landed a bunch of trout and ended up with a nice keeper Spring Chinook. We had a lot of fun and caught a lot of fish. Now that I think about posting this report,,,, I didn't take any pictures of our trout..............I will get on top of that next time!!!!!!!!! We caught some really nice Cut Throat Trout. Next time.......

Look what I caught today!! It's a Lamprey EEL! I haven't seen one of these in years!! Maybe there making a come back. We had a great day, we ended up hooking 3 salmon and landing one.  We also got to watch an Elk cross the Rogue River. You don't get to see that everyday!! Fishing has still been good, there has been some tough days, but all an all It's been good. Good luck fishing!
